Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and Australia's third largest metropolis. Located in the southeastern corner of Queensland, Brisbane is a river city, situated upstream from the mouth of the Brisbane River. Brisbane today has almost 2 million inhabitants spread out in vast suburbs. Downtown is modern, with futuristic buildings sharing space with some old Victorian constructions.
